The Cabbage Rose, scientifically known as Rosa Centifolia (with 'centifolia' meaning 'hundred petals'), is also referred to as the Provence Rose or Rose de Mai. Originating from Dutch cultivation in the seventeenth century, the Cabbage Rose boasts a rich history.

These rose buds are versatile and can be utilized in various DIY projects such as herbal sachets, potpourri, homemade creams and lotions, shampoos, facial steams, baths, salves, body mists, and massage oils.

Create your own Rose Oil by infusing dried roses in olive oil. Fill a jar about two-thirds full with dried rose buds, then pour olive oil over them until the roses are covered by approximately one inch of extra oil. Seal the jar tightly with a lid and allow it to infuse for 2 to 3 weeks. Afterward, strain out the rose buds and transfer the rose-infused oil into a clean jar.

For a rejuvenating Rose & Clay Face Mask, combine 2 teaspoons of white clay with 1 teaspoon of dried roses (either ground or powdered). Add enough water to form a paste-like consistency. Apply the mixture evenly on your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water and a washcloth.
